SHOW NOTES

Today we're going to talk about, "I'm not enough." This is the problem most of my students struggle with. I used to struggle with this limiting belief before I used the tools I’m going to cover in this podcast. It's fascinating how many of us have this thought in general about ourselves. We're just not enough.

I’ve noticed this limiting belief around skill sets. Such as  "I'm not smart enough" or "I'm not fit enough" or "I'm not skilled enough as a manager." “I’m not a good enough friend or partner”

So many of us believe that. "I'm not good enough at X.” And we compare ourselves to other humans whom we think have nailed X.

This line of thinking is called “scarcity”. The opposite line of thinking is called “abundance. I’m going to cover the definition of both within the context of what you think about yourself.

Scarcity means that you think you are not enough.  Your body isn’t fit enough. You are not smart enough. You are not confident enough.  And then when you think critical thoughts about yourself that are based in scarcity, you feel negative feelings along the lines of worried, fearful, or lacking in some way. Sometimes it also shows up as self-loathing. This was my experience before I found thought work.

Abundance is the opposite. You believe that you are more than enough right now. And you believe that about other people as well.  When you feel more than enough you feel abundant and the feelings related to abundance are along the lines of love, calm, possibility, gratitude, and excitement.  These are the positive feelings that come from thinking. “There’s so much for you to believe that you are”  It’s not from a place of I want to be better than, it’s from a place of love for yourself right now. This minute.  “Better than” comes from lack and scarcity. Abundance comes from a place of loving what you have and who you are right now.
